Round One – Midwest Sectionals 6 v. 11

More Preposterous statement craziness as the 2009 Preposterous Statement Tournament (not to be confused with the Common Man Dan Cole’s Preposterous Statement Tournament) rolls on. You can follow the tournament by using the 20 Times Around the Block Preposterous Statement bracket. Make your pick for a winner! A complete list of the statements can be found here.

Today yours truly takes on Nancy Pelosi in what should be a good game. Which statement is more preposterous?

6. There are many reasons why VHS is vastly superior to DVD…–Adam Omelianchuk

11. If we do not have an economic recovery package 500 million Americans lose their jobs–Nancy Pelosi.

What can I say? Sometimes I can’t stand renting DVDs because they get stuck and skip while VHS smoothly moves along in all of its analog glory. But of course that issue is not as urgent as passing am economic stimulus package, without which, more people that exist in this country would lose their jobs.
