  1. #28 Is preposterous, I’ve have not had sex once since Obama was elected. I don’t think the two are related.

  2. I suppose a lot of things can sound preposterous when you take them out of context.

    Also, about this one:

    27. This concept of truth de-motivates us by suggesting that “truth” can not change – it can only be discovered.–Brad Cecil
Has this guy ever heard of science?

Doesn’t science kind of illustrate exactly what he’s talking about? Scientific truth is continually changing. What scientists believe now is not the same as what they believed 100 years ago, and is probably not the same as what they will believe 100 years from now. Scientific “discoveries” are not absolute, unchanging truths, they are working models that are always open for revision based on new data or better theories.

  3. I would say that confuses knowledge (what is believed) and truth (what corresponds to reality). Science operates like any good epistemology by revisings its knowledge according to the truth it discovers. For example, the earth going around the sun revised our knowledge about the solar system, and there is no good reason to believe that this truth will change and the fact that it doesn’t certainly does not “de-motivate” us from further discovery.

Oh, and we don’t care about context around here! :)

  4. “I suppose a lot of things can sound preposterous when you take them out of context. ”

They all seem preposterous in context. They sound utterly insane out of context.

  5. “Abortion is a blessing and our work is not done.”

Speaking of context, the only thing that is preposterous about this is that they haven’t made this chick Bishop.

  6. I would say Jefferson Davis had a harder first 100 days than Lincoln. He had to build a country AND a government from scratch!

  7. “26. This president has inherited the most difficult first 100 days of any president, I would argue, including Franklin Roosevelt. –Joe Biden

Of any president? Move over Abraham Lincoln! Obama has got you by a mile!”

Well, Republicans are suddenly suggesting Secession again…something they would have decried as treasonous six months ago. But I just chalk that up to typical political hypocrisy. “When our guy is in power-you have to respect him-he is the leader”, when the other team has a guy in the Office, anything goes.
