Week 6: A Win’s a Win

Yesterday’s NFL antics were about as predictable as thunderstorms in the Twin Cities… a sure thing that ended in a mostly cloudy day that was warm and dry! Thankfully, my Sunday was not spent hovering over ESPN’s FantasyCast scoreboard, but instead at the Metrodome watching the refs give the game to the hapless Vikings. But in the words of the beloved coach Brad Childress, “A wins a win” and we’ll take one even if its by two points…

This week I barely won by the same slim margin. Tony Romo is a stud even though he turns it over once a game. Roddy White and Reggie Bush have carried me through despite Brian Westbrook’s constant injury problems. Le’Ron McClain laid an egg even though his past performances have been in the teens every week. Fortunately, I had an opponent who played a injured player who put up a zero. All I got to say is I believe in Isaac Bruce!

  1. If you are up against a top-tier opponent (in your case, one who consistently clears the 90 point hurdle), you might consider picking up Matt Ryan. Owning the QB-WR connection is a feast or famine thing, but works if only a statistical outlier will give you victory.

  2. That is a good choice, but Kurt Warner is already tearing it up. But to my dismay, Warner is on a bye this week along with Romo AND Ryan! I am going to see if I can pick up Kyle Orton this week.

But you are correct. Correll Buckhalter is going to replace -2 McClain and fill in for broken Westbrook as needed.

  3. It’s going to be a tough week. Fortunately, my opponent this week is in the same boat and is playing Chester Taylor… a good back in real football, not fantasy.
