Nothing spells preposterous like good ole fashion religious paranoia. Michael Spencer wrote a much discussed article titled The Coming Evangelical Collapse that elicited a comment from Stuart Woods basically stating there is no hope. We are at the end! The apocalypse is here! Another sign of evangelicalism’s collapse reading William P. Young’s book The Shack which metaphorically depicts God as a black woman (rather than an old white man with a beard). According to anti-feminist writer Mary Kassian, if this doesn’t bother you, you will have this image hanging in your church in a few years.
